Fellow Dermatologists, Members and Fellows of LADS and the AADV,

I am indeed pleased to be with you for the 19th Regional Conference of Dermatology (Asian-Australasian). The RCD is a special and unique educational and fellowship platform for dermatologists of our region. The tradition of hosting the RCD every two years amongst the Asean nations has been the hallmark of the cooperation of our dermatology fraternity. The year 2010 marks the beginning of a new era in the development of dermatology in Asia with the entry of the Vietnam Society of Dermatology and Venereology into the LADS and the formation of the AADV in Hanoi last year to amalgamate all the dermatology bodies in Asia into one common entity.

On behalf of the Council of the LADS and the AADV, I hereby extend our best wishes to the Dermatological Society of Malaysia and the Organising Committee for a successful and fulfilling meeting.
